Graduating Soon?

The graduation process and commencement ceremony can be an exciting adventure. Students must take care to have all of their paperwork completed and submitted to the correct offices by the posted deadlines.

Students will need to submit a Student Status Form if they plan to graduate during the current quarter and inform ISS of post-graduation plans.

Make sure you meet college graduation requirements

Students must meet all college graduation requirements and apply for graduation by the deadlines. The college issues degrees and certificates each quarter, but the commencement (graduation) ceremony is held only once a year at the end of spring quarter.

What is the difference between graduation and commencement?

Graduation is the process you go through to have your degree posted to your transcript. Commencement is a ceremony where we honor your academic accomplishments.

Time to wear your cap and gown

Commencement is a ceremony held annually in June for students completing requirements for a degree or certificate. Students planning to attend the ceremony should:

  • Submit a completed graduation application by the deadline to Enrollment Services.
  • Purchase a cap, gown, and tassel package from the bookstore.
  • Commencement tickets will be distributed at the Office of Student Life. When students show the bookstore receipt for the cap and gown, they will be given four admission tickets.
