University of Nagasaki Exchange Program

Fall Semester 2018/19 

Application Deadline: March 15, 2018
Prerequisite: JAPN&121, 122, 123 Before Departure

In this exchange program, students enroll at the University of Nagasaki and take a semester of tuition-free, transferable Edmonds CC credits during Fall and Winter quarters. As a representative of Edmonds CC, students qualify for university subsidized housing, as well as gain the opportunity to attend special events for international students.

Saitama Women's Junior College | Summer Program


Application Deadline: Feb 25, 2018
Prerequisite: 2.5 GPA or above, Have earned 12 or more Edmonds CC credits, must be female.

Saitama Women's Junior College enables Edmonds CC students to experience Japanese hospitality in homestays with families providing homemade Japanese breakfasts and dinners. Along with attending a Japanese Hospitality class, students tour the famous town of Kamakura, downtown Tokyo, and bamboo forests. This program is a chance to experience the foundation of Japanese reception and history, while hanging out with Japanese college students excited to converse!

Japan Fall Quarter 2018 | Tokyo


Application Deadline: July 6, 2018 | 15 credits

Prerequisite: 2.5 GPA or above, Have earned 12 or more Edmonds CC credits, must be female.

Program Dates: late September  – early December 5, 2018

Cost: Approx $6,300 – Includes airfare! (Land-only option approx $6,000)

Earn 15 colleger credits in Digital Photography, Creative Writing and Japanese Culture!
Experienced Community College faculty members will lead the group and teach the curriculum along with local Japanese faculty members.  Japanese students will assist as language partners and to help with customs and cultural adjustments.

Japan offers a rich environment of arts, culture and history where centuries-old traditions exist in contrast with ultra-modern lifestyles. Experience Sumo wrestling, Kabuki Theater, ancient castles and temples dating back to the days of the Samurai warriors. How about some trendy Tokyo street fashions in the Harajuku district, the latest in high technology, electronics and gadgetry, anime, and a city that never sleeps. Tokyo has many faces and each neighborhood is unique and has its own distinct character.
